Burbank Plan Upsets Veteran
I am a retired senior naval officer, a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict, who is concerned about the Burbank workers getting double duty for the Gulf War tribute.
The GIs who served get nothing extra. The bureaucrats get a “bonus,” which cost the suffering taxpayers of Burbank $50,000.
My suggestion is that we ask these patriotic workers to donate at least half of their found money to the Red Cross or the USO. I bet they would be unwilling to do that and will take the money and run.
It disappoints me that the GIs make the sacrifices and the people who stay at home pick up the loot.
