Deal for Trump Shuttle Reportedly Near: NWA Inc., parent of Northwest Airlines, is close to a deal that could give it a controlling stake in the Trump Shuttle, according to a report in the New York Times. The airline, controlled by New York businessman Donald J. Trump, was rescued by its bankers from a collapse last summer but fell into difficulties again a few months ago when the airline industry suffered a downturn. The Times said details still are being worked out, but that a buyout deal might be arranged that would release Trump from some or all of the $135-million loan on the airline that he personally guaranteed.
