A 23-year-old Oxnard man was arrested Tuesday after he kidnaped his estranged wife at gunpoint and held her hostage at her house until police persuaded him to surrender, authorities said.
Xico Solis was taken into custody about 7 a.m., an hour after he kidnaped his wife at an industrial complex where she works in south Oxnard and took her to her house, police said.
Police surrounding the house talked to the man by phone and eventually persuaded him to come out.
His wife, Irma Solis, 22, was uninjured.
Xico Solis was booked into Ventura County Jail. He is expected to face charges of witness intimidation, violation of a domestic violence restraining order and brandishing a firearm, police said.
