Gannett Co.: The Arlington, Va., media company said its first-quarter income plunged 33% to $50.11 million. Revenue fell 3% to $786.49 million. The company, which owns newspapers, broadcasting stations and billboards, said an advertising slump was a key reason for the poorer performance.
