COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Saddleback Wraps Up Tennis Title

The Saddleback men’s tennis team clinched its 13th consecutive conference title with a 9-0 victory over Riverside in an Orange Empire Conference match Wednesday in Mission Viejo.
It was the 52nd consecutive conference match victory for Saddleback (17-1, 11-0 in conference). The Gauchos, the two-time defending state champions, have won 41 of their past 42 matches.
Max Alvarez defeated Teddy Wuisang, 6-2, 7-6, in singles play. He then teamed with Trevor Anderson to defeat Wuisang and Rocky Simauw, 6-3, 6-0, in doubles play for Saddleback.
In Orange Empire Conference softball:
Orange Coast 7, Rancho Santiago 0--Host OCC took advantage of three errors to score five unearned runs. Shannon Ebert drove in a run with a triple and scored on an error during OCC’s three-run third ining.
Kristin Heizer (10-4) pitched the first five innings for the victory for Orange Coast (28-12, 10-3). Rancho Santiago is 8-17, 2-11.
Fullerton 3, Saddleback 0--Frances Garcia singled, stole second and scored on Erika Ostergaard’s single in the third inning for host Fullerton (12-16, 9-4). Ostergaard (11-14) pitched a three-hitter for the victory.
Golden West 4, Riverside 0--Pam Fogg (8-6) pitched a one-hitter, retiring the last 15 batters. Golden West (14-13, 7-6) scored four runs in the top of the seventh on five singles.
