Argument on Front Lawn Ends in Fatal Shooting

A 20-year-old man involved in an argument with another man was shot and killed on the front lawn of a Paramount home, authorities said Friday.
The shooting occurred in the 14000 block of Coke Avenue about 3:30 a.m. Thursday. The victim died about 1 1/2 hours later at Memorial Medical Center of Long Beach. His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
The shooting occurred after a dispute between the victim and another man. The latter produced a handgun and opened fire, hitting the victim once in the chest. Neither the suspect nor the victim lived at the location. There were no suspects in custody.
