In reference to Film Clip’s “Matinees Only for Eddie Murphy,” April 7, I believe the Mann Theaters could not be more racist no matter how hard they tried.
Is this to be a practice (i.e., notifying police) every time a new movie starring African Americans opens in a Mann theater? If so, why don’t we save them a call and not patronize the theaters.
It will eliminate their worry and fear of the “certainty of violence” they seem to believe African Americans possess and it will allow me as an African-American woman to go to a theater without worrying that my behavior may get me arrested because I want to see my people on the big screen.
