I cannot understand the news value of Jeanette Roache’s arrest and sentencing.
This arrest was a simple matter involving no accident or injury. And it did not involve a public figure or unusual circumstances.
Each holiday period we are told of hundreds of drunk driving arrests in San Diego County.
So why all the publicity over this particular arrest? Had the case involved Sheriff Jim Roache, of course, the matter would have been different. But Jim Roache was not involved.
