Your timely piece on ticket brokering got me where I live. My wonderful husband gave me two tickets to “The Phantom of the Opera” at the Music Center. It was a glorious production for which I would have gladly paid twice the price ($186 a piece through a legitimate ticket agency). When the tickets arrived, however, with a $50 gate price on them, I realized that the people who had produced this marvelous event would never see most of the money I’d spent to see it. That fact raised my ire.
