Edmonton Oiler General Manager Glen Sather will protect Jari Kurri in Thursday’s expansion draft to maintain his NHL rights.
King General Manager Rogie Vachon said he talked to Sather Sunday about dealing the Kings’ No. 1 draft pick in 1992 for Jari Kurri. “That was one option,” said Vachon, who wouldn’t say whether the Kings were willing to pay Edmonton owner Peter Pocklington $1 million as part of the deal.
