Gov. Wilson on Norplant

In response to “Wilson Favors Use of Birth Control Implant,” front page, May 17:
I am very pleased to see that Gov. Pete Wilson is in the process of developing a doable policy that will in some way help increase the chance that fewer babies will be born in California, especially babies that require expensive help due to the effects of negligence (omission and/or commission) on the part of the mother. This policy needs all the assistance and support it can get.
I believe that the Earth already has too many people and that our government has a responsibility to its people to help protect them from overpopulation.
If Gov. Wilson avoids political pitfalls, I see no reason why he will not one day become President and expand his policy of what--by then--will hopefully be known as humane population control that will save important aspects of this planet we all depend on, but perhaps don’t think of enough.
