Lakers Release Rookies Fisher, Matthews

Rookies Roy Fisher and Jason Matthews were released Tuesday by the Lakers, who have 16 players left on their roster.
Fisher was a forward from the University of California, Matthews a guard from Pittsburgh and Santa Monica St. Monica High School.
Rookies remaining on the Lakers’ roster are guard Demetrius Calip, forwards Tony Farmer and Anthony Jones and forward-center Keith Owens. All were signed as free agents except Jones, a second-round draft choice.
