POWER RADIO: If KUCI-FM boosts its signal more than eightfold (F1), it would be the biggest change for UCI’s student-run station since 1980. . . . Back then, KUCI had the same frequency (89.9 FM) as KCRW in Santa Monica, and when that station updated its signal, a UCI staffer recalls, “they all but knocked us off the air for five months. You could barely get us down the hall.” KUCI solved the problem by switching to 88.9.
