Monroe 34, North Hollywood 3--Senior running back Sean Bell gained 143 yards and scored three touchdowns in 14 carries to propel visiting Monroe (1-3, 1-1) to its first win.
Monroe tight end Kewon May added touchdown catches of 39 and 65 yards for Monroe.
North Hollywood (0-5, 0-2) fumbled six times--losing three--and committed four turnovers.
The Huskies also were penalized nine times for 85 yards.
After a sloppy first quarter which featured a total of five fumbles, Monroe senior quarterback Paul Vigil opened the second quarter with a screen pass to May for a 39-yard score.
Four minutes later, Louis Pittman threw a 65-yard pass to May for a 14-0 Viking lead.
After Sean Bell’s six-yard touchdown run had given Monroe a 20-0 lead, Morris Arnwine returned the ensuing kickoff 78 yards, which set up Jose Arenas’ 25-yard field goal, North Hollywood’s first points of the season.
