Dollars in Demand

In response to the letter, “Dollar Confidence Spent,” Oct. 20: After a recent trip to Europe, it was a great disappointment to come home and find our money was worth so little. It bothered my American pride to find a wonderful triple room with balcony overlooking a small Venice (Italy) canal for $47, while I had to pay $95 for my teen-ager to stay at a Santa Monica Travelodge overlooking the ice machine. I found both continents equally eager for the American dollar.
