Construction has begun on a fire station in Anaheim Hills.
Located at 6300 E. Nohl Ranch Road, Station No. 9 will replace a temporary facility that consists of a tent and a mobile home in the Anaheim Hills Country Club parking lot.
Fire Chief Jeffrey Bowman said the station, which will cost $961,000 to build, is located in prime brush fire territory and its firefighters will likely be the city’s first line of defense against a major blaze.
“We needed a permanent facility to give us the maximum capabilities in dealing with these potential dangers,” he said.
The station is being paid for by development fees.
