A man was found by a San Diego County Sheriff’s Department search team after he and his two dogs became lost while hiking near his home, authorities said.
Randy Wagner, 29, of the 500 block of S Street in Ramona, was found early Sunday on a mountainside eight hours after he was reported missing from a San Dieguito River Park trail, authorities said.
Wagner had been reported missing about 6 p.m. Saturday.
Authorities said he was in good condition when located but that the dogs had been injured.
“It’s rough terrain up there and the pads of house dogs just aren’t cut out for it,” said one sheriff’s department dispatcher.
