Pasadena : Hike Re-Enacts First Trek
To celebrate the anniversary of its founding in 1911, the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club staged a one-mile hike recently in the Arroyo Seco, re-enacting a portion of the chapter’s first trek along the wooded, winding riverbed.
About 60 people participated, club officials said.
Started as the first offshoot of the parent San Francisco-based environmental organization, the Angeles group has 65,000 members and is the club’s largest chapter, said Ken Horner, the chapter’s executive committee chairman.
