GARDEN GROVE LEAGUE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Olmedo, Robledo Pace Santiago Past Kennedy

Yamila Olmedo had 24 points and 15 rebounds to help Santiago to a 68-49 victory over Kennedy in a Garden Grove League girls’ basketball game Friday at Kennedy.
America Robledo added 16 points and 17 assists for Santiago (17-6, 10-4), which finished in a three-way tie for second with Kennedy (17-7, 10-4) and Garden Grove.
Santiago will enter the Division I-A playoffs, Kennedy the II-A playoffs and Garden Grove II-AA.
Lynly Matsumoto had 16 points and Karin Kitagawa added 14 points for Kennedy.
In another girls’ game:
Garden Grove 57, Pacifica 43--Stephanie Werdal had 16 points and Nicole Murray had 14 for Garden Grove (15-9, 10-4). Pilar Surch had 18 points for Pacifica, which finished 4-10 in league.
In boys’ games:
Kennedy 92, Santiago 46--Jeff Cummins had 24 points and nine rebounds for Kennedy (23-3, 14-0), which completed its third consecutive undefeated Garden Grove League season.
Garden Grove 74, Pacifica 69--Cornell Archer had 19 points and Jim Sebreros had 17 for visiting Garden Grove. Jason Cousins had 22 points and Chris Vlasic and Ramon Alliman each had 18 for Pacifica.
Los Amigos 67, Rancho Alamitos 61--Jeff Martell scored 18 points and Mark Dillon added 15 points for visiting Los Amigos (7-16, 6-8). Ed Taylor had 26 points and nine rebounds and David Guzman had 12 points for Rancho Alamitos (13-12, 9-5).
