Katherine Curtin Young has been appointed vice president, supply management for AST Research Inc., an Irvine-based computer company. She will be responsible for creating and directing an international procurement strategy and system. Before joining AST, Young was vice president, corporate materials at Conner Peripherals in San Jose, and before that worked at IBM for 29 years.
