Montclair Prep 73, Campbell Hall 70--Akil Anderson made both ends of a one-and-one with five seconds left to seal the nonleague upset for the host Mounties (15-8).
Montclair Prep, ranked sixth in the Southern Section Division V poll, led by as many as 10 points in the third quarter before the Vikings made a run.
After Anderson’s free throws, Campbell Hall, ranked No. 1 in the Southern Section Division V and third in the state among Division V teams, had a chance to tie the score. The Vikings, however, were unable to set up a three-point shot and the ball was passed to 6-foot-10 center Alex Lopez inside the three-point line. Lopez, who finished with 10 points, misfired on a two-point shot as time expired.
Montclair Prep’s Jerome Joseph led all scorers with 29 points, and Anderson added 12.
C.J. Thompkins hit six three-point shots and finished with 26 points for Campbell Hall (6-18).
St. Genevieve 66, Bell-Jeff 54--The Valiants (12-13) survived a fourth-quarter rally to end a four-game losing streak and win a playoff for third place in the Camino Real League.
St. Genevieve’s Ryan McGinnis led all players with 29 points and 15 rebounds, and Mark Leahy added seven points and 12 rebounds.
Moorpark 61, Nordhoff 60--Jeff Barry took a pass from Micah Hanson and sank a four-foot bank shot with three seconds remaining to lift Moorpark (12-11) in a game that determined third place in the Frontier League.
Nordhoff, which dropped a last-second 44-43 decision to Santa Paula earlier in the day, took a 60-59 lead with 23 seconds left on a jump shot by Steve Saum.
