Waters to Speak on Blacks in Politics

Rep. Maxine Waters will host a free discussion today at 3 p.m. at the African American Cultural Center, 2560 W. 54th St.
The discussion, “Toward a Black Political Agenda: Post-Election Issues and Strategies,” is part of the center’s monthlong black history series. Waters will address a variety of topics and field questions, concerns and comments in an open-forum format.
Waters, who represents the 29th Congressional District, serves on the Committee on Banking, Finance and Urban Affairs, the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs and the Black Congressional Caucus. She is also a frequent spokeswoman on urban and African-American issues.
