Alpharel’s 4th-Quarter Profit Drops 81% From ’91

Alpharel Inc., a Camarillo-based maker of document imaging systems, said its fourth-quarter profit dropped 81% from a year earlier on a 3% dip in revenue.
The company’s net income in the quarter ended Dec. 31 fell to $67,000 from $359,000 a year earlier, while its revenue fell to $1.67 million from $1.73 million.
Roger Erickson, chief executive, said that while 1992 was “essentially a break-even year,” this year “will prove to be much better.”
For all of 1992, Alpharel’s profit tumbled 84%, to $222,000 from $1.38 million the prior year, and its annual revenue fell 5%, to $6.27 million from $6.58 million.
