OXNARD : Meeting to Explore Global Economics

Global trade opportunities for Ventura County businesses will be among the topics discussed at an upcoming conference presented by the League of Women Voters of Ventura County.
UCLA professor Raul Hinojosa-Ojeda will be the keynote speaker at the conference, titled “Challenges of the Global Economy,” to be held Feb. 26. Hinojosa-Ojeda has written extensively on international trade and will discuss the demographics of a world economy.
Also speaking will be Bill Brannigan of the World Bank in Washington. Two workshops will offer a variety of sessions dealing with international finance and trade presented by Ventura County business leaders and educators.
The conference is part of the League of Women Voters’ ongoing project to examine the economic, agricultural and social ties between Ventura County and nations of the world, spokeswoman Grace Bernstein said.
Advance registration for the conference, which costs $25, is requested. It begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. at the Financial Plaza Hilton in Oxnard. For information, call 523-3488.
