Coach: Dan Glenn (seventh year)

1992: 19-2, 11-1 in Sea View League; won league title and reached Southern Section 4-A semifinals, losing to eventual-champion Santa Barbara.

Key returners: Mitch McCoy, Jr., 6-2, outside hitter; Eric Vallely, Jr., 6-1, outside hitter.

Key newcomers: Todd Jameson, Sr., 6-0, outside hitter; Rob Meserve, Sr., 6-3, middle blocker; Matt Schutz, Sr., 6-1, setter; Greg Slick, Soph., 6-2, outside hitter; Ramy Shoukry, Jr., 6-6, middle blocker; Dan Thomassen, Sr., 6-2, middle blocker; Jay Tufano, Sr., 5-11, outside hitter.

Outlook: Vallely and McCoy are two of the county’s top juniors. Glenn will have to find replacements for three all-county players--middle blocker Frank Griffo, outside hitter Justin McIntee and setter Russ Gan. The Sailors also lost senior outside hitter Mark McAnlis for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. McAnlis is team’s top returnee and one of the county’s top 10 players.
