Artist Emigdio Vasquez has selected three top winners, all from Santa Ana High School, for a juried high school art exhibit at the Caged Chameleon Art Gallery in Santa Ana. A grant from the City of Santa Ana provided $175 in prize money. Juan Barajas took first place for a pencil drawing, “Facing the Future.” Second place went to Victor Sanchez for his pencil and charcoal drawing, “Childhood.” Aaron Menchaca received third prize for a collage, “Window of Obscurity.” Teresa de la Torre, Lauri Hansen (both from Santa Ana High) and Jose Rodriquez from Saddleback High all received honorable mentions. The exhibit, sponsored by the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, is on view through Saturday.
