OUTLOOK Garcia, a first-team all-league selection, heads a list of seven returning starters. He’s a 6-foot-3 right-hander who struck out 63 and walked only 10 in 68 innings, while posting a 1.68 earned-run average as a junior. “He could be one of the best pitchers in the county,” Meggison said. “He throws five pitches (fastball, curve, changeup, slider and knuckleball) with excellent control. Scouts from Cleveland, Toronto and Montreal have been out to watch him.” Rugprayoon, a solid contact hitter, led the league with 19 runs batted in. “It seemed like whenever there were runners on base, he drove them in,” Meggison said. Flores, who was academically ineligible most of last season, has replaced Jesus Lopez as the team’s No. 2 starter; Lopez moved to Washington. “If he pans out, we’re going to be very good,” Meggison said. “He has a really good curve, but he only pitched 14 innings last year.” Montenegro, beginning his fourth varsity season, batted .326 as a junior.
