WEEKEND TV : A Premiere, Marathon and Easter Seal Telethon

A telethon, a marathon and the premiere of a new newsmagazine will highlight the weekend fare for Southland television viewers.
On Saturday night, Pat Boone, Mary Frann and Robb Weller will host the 22nd annual “1993 Easter Seal Telethon” for the disabled, beginning at 11 p.m. on KTLA Channel 5. Dick Van Patten, Bernie Kopell, Marta Waller and Ed Arnold are emcees of the locally televised segments.
On Sunday, more then 20,000 runners will try to go the distance in the eighth annual Los Angeles Marathon. Coverage of the 26.2-mile event begins at 8 a.m. on KCOP Channel 13 and cable’s WWOR. The telecast will be repeated at 7 p.m. on KCOP.
And, Forrest Sawyer is the host of ABC’s new “Day One” newsmagazine, which features in-depth reports, at 8 p.m. on Channels 7, 3, 10 and 42.
