Bel-Air Prep 52, Fontana Ambassador Christian 48--Westley Allen scored 16 points and Bryan Sterling and freshman Danny Brummel added 14 points each to lead the Bruins (21-7) to the Division V-A championship at La Verne Lutheran High.
The victory ended an 18-game winning streak for Ambassador Christian (22-7).
Brummel scored eight points in the first quarter to help Bel-Air take a 16-12 lead.
The Bruins went on a 12-4 run during the first six minutes of the second half, and Allen’s jump shot gave Bel-Air a 36-27 advantage with two minutes to play in the third quarter.
Martinez made a layup with two minutes left to pull the Dawgs close to 46-44. But the Bruins reeled off six consecutive points in the next 90 seconds to seal the victory
