GIRLS’ ROUNDUP : Narbonne Is No Match for Jefferson, 60-53

Junior center Shonte Tippie scored 20 points to lead Jefferson High to a 60-53 victory over Harbor City Narbonne in the City 3-A Division championship Friday at the Sports Arena.
Kyetra Brown, a junior forward, scored 14 points and Chaka Smith, a sophomore forward, scored 12 points for the top-seeded Democrats (26-3).
Narbonne (16-11) outscored Jefferson, 22-17, in the fourth quarter. Denise Takamoto led the Gauchos with 14 points.
Valarie(cq) Ogawa and Lenora Tuisalo’o scored 13 points each for Narbonne.
Cerritos Valley Christian 66, Burbank Bell-Jeff 52--The Crusaders scored 31 fourth-quarter points at Biola College to end Bell-Jeff’s 23-game winning streak.
Cerritos Valley Christian (26-2), the defending Southern Section Division IV-A champion, went on a 15-5 run to start the fourth quarter.
Lori Talley scored 20 points for Bell-Jeff (27-3) and Aisha Veasley scored a game-high 22 points for Cerritos Valley Christian.
