After 100 minutes of play Friday night, girls’ soccer teams from Claremont and Huntington Beach Marina had to satisfy themselves with a 1-1 tie and a co-championship in the Southern Section Division I title game at Gahr High in Cerritos.
Jennifer Bivens gave Claremont an early lead, scoring off a corner kick at 10:55. But Amy Peterson tied the score for Marina at the 18:13 mark.
Scoring opportunities were few for both squads the rest of the way. Peterson had the best chance midway through the second half, but the senior striker was stopped at point-blank range by Claremont goalie Andi Janousek.
Claremont, which defeated top-seeded Torrance and No. 4 Simi Valley to reach the final, finished 22-1-5. Marina, which beat No. 2 El Toro in the semifinals, finished 19-4-4.
In boys’ action:
Santa Paula 2, Calabasas 1--In the Division I final, the Cardinals overcame a one-goal deficit on goals by Joseph Jauregui and Albert Perez to defeat a Calabasas squad that had beaten them twice during Frontier League play.

Redlands 1, Fontana 0--Andy Peterson scored at 78:26 to lift Redlands (21-4-4) to the Division I title over Fontana (16-4-4).
