Brett Hull signed a four-year contract extension with the St. Louis Blues.
Earlier this year, trade rumors regarding Hull were rampant because he wanted to be paid on a par with other stars of his stature. One team mentioned prominently in those rumors was the Kings.
“All along I have said that I want to remain in St. Louis,” Hull said in a statement. “The Blues are now providing me with that security.”
Terms were not disclosed, but the Blues said the contract included a one-year option.
Next season is the final one of his four-year deal worth $7 million, and Hull had been seeking a five-year package worth between $3.5 million and $5 million per year.
