Talks on Semiconductor Purchases Scheduled: Japan and the United States will hold talks in Hawaii on March 22 and 23 on Japan’s purchase of foreign semiconductors, the Nihon Keizai newspaper said. The two sides are expected to discuss Japan’s previous goal to increase the market share of foreign-made semiconductors to 20% by the end of 1992, the paper said. Japanese computer makers are suffering from poor computer sales and declining exports.
