Pleasant Valley Hospital is getting a new name.
The board of directors of St. John’s Regional Medical Center has decided to change Pleasant Valley Hospital’s name to St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital after the Camarillo hospital’s merger with St. John’s in Oxnard 3 1/2 weeks ago, hospital spokeswoman Rita Schumacher said.
St. John’s officials are ordering a new hospital sign, employee badges and brochures to reflect the new name, she said.
Pleasant Valley Hospital merged with St. John’s on Feb. 19 in a deal that linked the 19-year-old Camarillo hospital with a chain of 15 nonprofit hospitals owned by Catholic Healthcare West in San Francisco.
