NOT SO SUPER? County officials considered “super-streets” a terrific name for their major project to widen 21 boulevards. Problem was, the name was too imposing to some residents. . . . The city of Yorba Linda suggested--and the county transit board approved Monday--a new name: “smart streets.” Says transit Chief Executive Officer Stan Oftelie: “As super-streets became more real, the name became more terrifying to people; we’re going to reduce that terror.”
