OUTLOOK

A change of scenery might do the Patriots good. After finishing fourth in the Academy League last season, Heritage Christian has moved into the four-team Express League. “I’m anticipating us doing real well,” Acheson said. “We won the Express League championship in boys’ basketball, finished second in football . . . . Our school’s having a great year.” Acheson has all three of his pitchers from last season returning in Bosch, Drabek and Zubas. “You hardly ever have pitching depth, so it’s nice,” Acheson said. Bosch earned all-Academy League honors after leading the Patriots in stolen bases while hitting a team-high .543. Swanson hit .514 and had a team-high 11 RBIs in 13 games, and Zubas hit .436. Two sophomores, Cortez and Smith, might also immediately contribute offensively, Acheson said.
