The Press : On America’s Airdrops to Bosnia

American cargo planes last week began airdrops of humanitarian aid to residents of eastern Bosnia who have been cut off by Serbian forces. The drops marked the first direct U.S. involvement in the Yugoslavia conflict as well as the Clinton Administration’s first major foreign policy initiative. Many Europeans applauded the American effort.
