Illegal Immigration

I applaud the suggestion that immigrants be granted temporary visas to work in the United States as nannies or home care providers. However, I feel the Canadian model is flawed in limiting these visas to a maximum of three years. Young children usually become very attached to their child-care providers; mine has been with our family for 10 years and my children love her devotedly. How is anyone well-served by a policy which requires families fortunate enough to have kept a nanny for three years to disrupt their children’s lives and emotions by replacing that person for such an artificial reason?
A better policy would be to permit those employed in such jobs to remain in the country until three months after they cease such employment.
