PREP BASEBALL ROUNDUP : Western Wins, 5-4, on Frembling’s Grand Slam in Seventh

Steve Frembling hit a grand slam with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead Western to a 5-4 victory over visiting Kennedy in the second game of a nonleague baseball doubleheader Tuesday.
Western trailed 4-1 when Frembling hit his grand slam, his first homer of the season.
Marcus Robinson had a double and a triple as Western won the opener, 6-5.

In other nonleague baseball:
El Dorado 10-1, Ocean View 2-3--Pitcher Pat Gildae (2-0) gave up four hits to lead Ocean View (6-1) in the second game. Mike Bellovich hit a two-run double in the fifth for the Seahawks.
In the first game, Chris Remala had three hits to help El Dorado (4-3) hand the Seahawks their first loss.
La Jolla Bishop’s 8, Capistrano Valley Christian 3--Dave Lambert had two doubles and an RBI and Kevin Fisher had two hits, an RBI and a run scored for host Capistrano Valley Christian (2-3).
Troy 7, La Mirada 6 (9)--With two outs, Brian Logan singled home Jeff Domen from third with the winning run for Troy (5-0), which upset La Mirada, ranked eighth in the State Division II by Cal-Hi Sports.
Servite 4, Valencia 3--Kirk Rossi hit a home run for Servite (3-3). Franklin Jefferson had a home run for Valencia (2-3).
Bolsa Grande 8, Downey Warren 8 (7, darkness)--Mike Rinkowsky had three hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs for Bolsa Grande (1-1-1).
Katella 9-9, Foothill 3-2--Jesse Santivanez had four hits and three RBIs for Katella (6-1).
Fountain Valley 7, Long Beach Millikan 5--Relief pitcher Billy Perkins scattered four hits over five innings for Fountain Valley (5-1). Perkins improved his record to 2-0.
The loss was the first of the season for two-time defending Division I Southern Section champion Millikan (5-1).
Capistrano Valley 13, Century 2--Peter Zamora went 3 for 4 with six RBIs, and Gabe Payne had two triples for Capistrano Valley (4-1).
Brea-Olinda 10, La Habra 1--Mike Brambilla hit a home run and Danny Miller had three hits for Brea-Olinda (4-2).
Mission Viejo 8, Villa Park 3--Jason Sperling earned the victory for host Mission Viejo, giving up three hits, striking out six batters and allowing three walks in six innings.
Brethren Christian 6, Liberty Christian 4--Kurt Cuellar had a two-run double in the seventh inning to lead Brethren Christian (3-1). Tony Dybas led the Knights with three hits.
Sonora 9-19, Anaheim 7-1--Peter Lythgoe went 6 for 9 on the day with five RBI for Sonora (4-2). Teammate Adam Ferry went four for eight with four RBI.

In Garden Grove League baseball:
Garden Grove 4, Orange Lutheran 0--Bryce McHale earned the victory for Garden Grove (4-0), striking out 11 batters and allowing two walks in seven innings.
