Richardson’s success this season has been a case of coming in from the cold. Richardson, a graduate of Dana Hills High School, started the fall at Minnesota but left at the semester break.
Back in Southern California, he had helped Saddleback dominate the competition. He set a Saddleback record for low round by two shots with a five-under 66 last Friday as the Gauchos won the 12-team San Diego Golf Academy Tournament at Whispering Palms County Club in San Diego.
It was the fifth time in 12 rounds this season that Richardson has been the medalist for the Gauchos. He is second on the team in stroke average at 74.9. Jason McDaniel is tops on the team at 74.7.
Other top performers:
Adrian Brown, who won the 110 high hurdles, the triple jump and long jump and anchored the 4-x-100 relay team as Golden West beat Orange Coast, Grossmont, Cuyamaca, and MiraCosta. He also won the 110 high hurdles at Cal Poly Pomona Invitational.
Greg Tippin, who was seven for 11, scored five runs and drove in four runs as Cypress won two of three games baseball games.
