On March 26, a mural depicting the Amazon rain forest of South America will be presented by the Orange County High School of the Arts to the Santa Ana Zoo, which has a new exhibit called “Amazon’s Edge.” The 8-by-10-foot mural, designed by students at the high school and funded by the Friends of the Santa Ana Zoo, will be installed in the zoo’s concession area. The zoo, at 1801 E. Chestnut Ave., is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $2 for adults, 75 cents for children 3 to 12 and seniors, and free to the handicapped. (714) 953-8555.

Nestle USA Inc. says it will give $50,000 a year for three years to the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa. The money would bring the center’s endowment past the $5 million mark; the goal is $15 million by the end of 1996.
