COUNTYWIDE : Trial Lawyers to Honor Top Judges at Awards Dinner

The Ventura County Trial Lawyers Assn. will present its judge of the year awards Tuesday at the group’s annual dinner meeting honoring local judges.
The awards, which will go to a Superior Court judge and a Municipal Court judge, recognize exceptional wisdom, wit, patience, understanding and compassion.
The honorees are selected by civil attorneys, business litigators, prosecutors and criminal defense attorneys and the Ventura County Bar Assn.
The awards have been an annual event since 1978.
A portrait of retired Ventura County Superior Court Judge Robert Willard, who continues to hear probate matters by assignment for the court, will be unveiled at the dinner.
The portrait will hang with other judicial portraits in Courtroom 22 at the courthouse in Ventura.
The dinner meeting, which begins at 6 p.m., will be held at the Financial Plaza Hilton, 600 E. Esplanade Drive, Oxnard. Tickets are $27.50 for members and $29.50 for non-members.
