RIDING SHOTGUN: Orange County commuters to downtown Los Angeles didn’t like the idea that riders from other neighboring counties got to transfer to the Metro Red Line free. It wasn’t the added 25-cent fee that bothered them as much as standing in line for the transfer ticket. . . . After enough complaints, the Orange County Transportation Authority got the message. Monday, it approved a deal with Los Angeles that allows free transfers for local monthly and 10-trip ticket-holders--effective April 1.
