After losing two of its five games last week, Cal State Northridge (17-4) dropped from 13th to 14th in the Collegiate Baseball poll released Monday. The Matadors play Cal State Long Beach (12-12) today at 2 p.m. at Matador Field.
Shortstop Andy Hodgins may not play because of a hand injury suffered when he was accidentally spiked Saturday night by a San Diego State player. Hodgins, who has a 10-game hitting streak, was able to play Sunday despite a deep cut in the palm of his hand and four stitches in his thumb.
Today’s CSUN starting pitcher is Evan Howland (1-1), a freshman from El Camino Real High.
