Fox Sues to Protect ‘Simpsons’: The producers of the TV show “The Simpsons” sued more than 400 Southern California businesses and individuals for allegedly producing counterfeit goods bearing the likeness of its cartoon characters. In the lawsuit filed in federal court in Los Angeles, 20th Century Fox accused the business operators of copyright infringement and unfair trade practices. Most of those named in the suit own or operate small clothing or toy manufacturing businesses in the downtown garment district.
