Motown-MCA Settlement Reached: A settlement was reached in Los Angeles in a bitter tangle of lawsuits involving Motown Records, MCA Records and the Boston Ventures investment group, the record companies said. The companies also said the parties expect that related lawsuits pending between MCA and Polygram Holding Inc. will be resolved. In 1991, Motown sued MCA to break off a distribution agreement, claiming that MCA overcharged for manufacture of compact discs.
