InVitro Diagnostic Kit: InVitro International said Wednesday that evaluations have shown that its new product for testing the corrosiveness of chemicals without using laboratory animals is 99% accurate.
The evaluations of the company’s Corrositex diagnostic kit were conducted by Mobil Corp., S.C. Johnson, Shaklee Products, BioTechnics Labs and Dow Chemical Corp. The company said Corrositex only underestimated 1% of corrosive and non-corrosive classifications.
The evaluations are part of a process that Irvine-based InVitro is undergoing to gain United Nations accreditation so that Corrositex can be sold worldwide.
