Cypress 9, Los Alamitos 4--Bobby Brito had three hits including a home run and scored two runs for host Cypress (6-2, 2-0). Los Alamitos is 3-6, 0-2.
El Dorado 5, Esperanza 4--Trent Cuevas went two for four with an RBI to lead El Dorado (6-3, 2-0).
Katella 15, Loara 2 (6 1/2 innings, called because of darkness)--George Schalip limited Loara to five hits and struck out 11 for Katella (1-1). Loara is 0-2 in league.

Sonora 7, Fullerton 3--Shane Unger had two home runs and three RBIs and was the winning pitcher for visiting Sonora (5-3, 1-1).
Sunny Hills 8, La Habra 1--Bobby Sunderland pitched a six-hitter, David Fox went three for three with two runs scored and John Ferraro went three for four with two RBIs for Sunny Hills (6-3, 1-1).
Troy 4, Buena Park 3--Reliever Greg Western pitched the last four innings, giving up three hits while striking out six for Troy (7-0, 2-0). Buena Park fell to 5-1 and 1-1.

Los Amigos 3, Kennedy 1--Mike Smith hit a home run, a double, drove in two runs and scored twice as host Los Amigos (1-6) won its league opener.
Pacifica 8, Bolsa Grande 1--Pacifica scored five runs in the first two innings.
Rancho Alamitos 5, Garden Grove 0--Marshall Brown homered and pitched a three-hitter for visiting Rancho Alamitos.

Brea-Olinda 8, Valencia 3--Mark Anspach had two hits and two RBIs and John Stoddard added two RBIs for Brea-Olinda (6-2, 2-0). Valencia fell 3-4 and 1-1.

In the South Coast League:
Mater Dei 2, Mission Viejo 1--Erik Mattern homered for the second time in two games and also picked up a save for Mater Dei (7-1, 2-0), ranked No. 2 in the county.
Capistrano Valley 4, Dana Hills 1--Cole Flynn gave up four hits and Scott Shoen went two for three with an RBI for Capistrano Valley (5-2, 1-1).
El Toro 7, San Clemente 2--Pat Cotter gave up five hits and recorded 11 strikeouts and Justo Capacete went three for four with two RBIs for El Toro.
