INDUSTRY CHATTER: Larry Jenkins, vice president of media and artists relations at Capitol Records, isn’t going to have to worry about how to handle all the shake-ups rumored for the Hollywood Tower. He’s exiting for the top media post at Columbia Records in New York. The move reunites Jenkins with his former Arista Records boss and current Columbia President Don Ienner.
Ienner and Jenkins have apparently already recruited Leyla Turkkan for a key position in the reorganized department. The New Yorker, whose clients have ranged from Public Enemy to David Bowie, is regarded as one of the top independent publicists.
