MID-CITY : Korean Essay Contest Offers Scholarships

The Korea Society of Los Angeles is seeking entries for its national high school essay contest on the topic, “My Images of Korea and Koreans: Towards a New Understanding.”
Two grand-prize winners will each receive a $1,500 scholarship and a one-week tour of South Korea, accompanied by a parent or guardian. Eight first-place scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded, along with 10 second-place $500 scholarships and 20 third-place $250 scholarships.
The contest is also sponsored by the Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles and Korean Air. The deadline is June 18.
